Why the society do not accept greros - threat of promiscuity
« on: August 05, 2013, 01:53:37 PM »
Even modern societies condemns greros, because acceptance of greros would make it extremely easy for the husbands to betray their wives with other men – with other greros.

I would compare this to how fiercely the society attacks prostitution, which is the other easy way husbands can cheat their wives. There are loud voices around the world craving that prostitution should be criminalized and not to be legalized. Both religious women’s groups and feminist’s groups keep criminalizing of prostitution as a matter of the highest priority.

If we compare prostitution with MSM (Men who have sex with men), there are no exact numbers, but it is probable, that more husbands betray their wives with other men than with prostitutes. We must keep in mind that in most industrial countries the percentage of men who have bought sexual services at least once in their lifetime is about 15 %. If we compare this to the number 10 %.
We must keep in mind that for an ordinary husband it is very difficult task to find a willing female partner to have sex with if the husbands wants to have sex outside his marriage. I practice the only way to have this kind of extramarital affair is to have sex with prostitutes or with other men.

Greros are threat to heterosexual families because in our societies casual sex is by norms forbidden for women, but not for men. Promiscuity is sanctioned only for the women not for men. This is why men are promiscuous.

Men are promiscuous. Greros are men. Greros are promiscuous.    Societies cannot accept promiscuity. This is why societies cannot accept greros.

Perhaps the heterosexual nuclear family is the myth and homosexuality/grero is the reality.  That's what you just admitted.

On the contrary, tony has just voiced the achilles heel of grero (its blithe and freewheeling acceptance of sexual hedonism a priori) and the bedrock reality that cannot coexist with it. Not to mention the curse we guys are under that drives us to choose the former!

Ultimately it's a crazy world in which nothing actually fits together. But any society that wants to have a stable, healthy future will have to proscribe "sexual freedom". No matter how you slice it, somebody's going to suffer badly -- the chaste or the libertines. Because of diseases, I for one could no more imagine visiting a prostitute than jumping off a cliff, but that's just me. Antibiotics are losing their power as we speak.

Acceptance is not an issue with greros because we fit in pretty much with mainstream society. Those of us who are single might get a question about not being married or having children from time to time, but we really can function pretty well if we remain discreet. Where marriage is concerned, there will always be infidelities for a variety of reasons. The haters really don't like to acknowledge that greros exist because they are not identifiable like effeminate guys. Haters want the "enemy" well-defined and recognizable -- this takes the attention off of the haters.

"Haters want the "enemy" well-defined and recognizable -- this takes the attention off of the haters." Now that's a good point in particular.
